Perhaps literacy, and numeracy for that matter, have never really been optional for fully functioning members of society. In our 21st century society—accelerated, media-saturated, and automated—a new literacy is required, one more broadly defined than the ability to read and write.

ReplyDeleteWow, what a magnificent catch (and plumber's crack lol!). My Dad used to own a trawler and I can honestly say I do not have sea legs!!! Did you know that when you embed 'youtube video's' you are able to control where the video begins. This means if you find a gem for a subject you are teaching but it is hidden among a long otherwise irrelevant video, you can make it show only the bit you found relevant. I haven't mastered this as of yet but I am learning.
